Firstly, the edge banding machine itself is made of metal; the materials it processes are also metal; and its operating principle relies on friction and impact between metal surfaces to achieve cleaning and optimisation. Consequently, wear and tear during operation is inevitable and tends to be quite severe. The most important aspect of maintenance is the use of lubricating oil. The purpose of applying lubricating oil is to reduce the extent of wear and tear on the machine and extend its service life; however, lubricating oil must not be overused, and its effect on reducing wear is not particularly pronounced. Therefore, the key lies in the maintenance of the edge banding machine’s components. The machine must be inspected regularly, and damaged components replaced promptly—in particular, damaged steel balls must be replaced without delay, as failure to do so will result in the damaged steel balls causing wear to the castings.
Installation steps for automatic edge banding machines:
1. Remove the packaging securing the mechanical components.
2. Place the machine on the floor and level it.
3. Securely install the roll-fed edge banding material onto the machine using the storage turntable.
4. Connect the external power cable to a 220V, 50Hz, three-phase, four-wire power supply; the main power cable must have a cross-sectional area of at least 4 square centimetres.
5. Connect the compressed air supply.
6. Connect the dust extraction hose to the dust extraction unit.
7. Check that the voltage is correct and ensure that the compressed air supply is sufficient and dry.
